Boundaries A PhilosophyBox Multi-Discipline Event and Exhibit Exploring How Communities Play Together May 13- June 4, 2005 with Outdoor Events May 14, 21, 28 PhilosophyBox explores how communities play together with Boundaries, an art and performance project consisting of two indoor exhibits and a series of outdoor performances and open house exhibits on the sidewalk, at the border between East Harlem and Yorkville where the gallery is located, 1511 Lexington Avenue (between 97th and 98th). First in the line-up is Jose Morales and Nayda Collazo-Llorens with their exhibit, Link, comprised of Morales' paintings and Collazo-Llorens' video work. Their work will be on exhibit from May 13 - June 4, 2005, and will open with a public reception on Friday, May 20, 6 - 9 pm. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 2 - 8 pm. During this exhibit, on three Saturdays from 2-8 pm (May 14, 21, 28), PhilosophyBox will feature a variety of artists and performers in an outdoor exhibition, along the sidewalk in front of the gallery and neighboring businesses, in the companion series, Spread/InsideOutside. Performances include Assisted Street Crossing, a popular street interaction previously performed on the Lower East Side and the Wall Street area by Tryst, a performance situation group organized by Clarinda Mac Low, Alejandra Martorell and Paul Benney. Additional performers and musicians, with an up-to-date schedule, can be found on the announcement card and at www.philosophybox.com. In addition, PhilosophyBox will continue the Boundaries project with the theme of Openings from June 6 - June 26. Artists and additional performances will be announced.
